Текст песни: Howie Lucero. The Dangerous Summer.

(words and music by Howie Lucero © 1984)

Cindy worked in the sandwich shop out on Matecumbe
ringing the dinner chime and working the serving line.
Her sister, Adrianna, ogled the clock when she sent me away.
"Junction City" here we go! On the Tavenier radio, singing -
"Bop-bop doo-ee-op - biddy doo-ee-op - touche!"
Now, I don't remember Wednesdays - 8:15, and I don't remember WQAM,
but I think about her when it's raining, and I wonder of her every now and then.
I never think of Adrianna too much, just her sorrowful face.
Maybe I knew her well, and she . . . the folded pimpernel.
But when the word came that Cindy was lost to the storm's ugly rage
everything hurt inside till I could no longer cry.
"Bop-bop doo-ee-op - biddy doo-ee-op - touche!"
I don't remember Wednesdays - 8:15; I don't remember WQAM,
but I think about her when the rain does teem, and I wonder of her every now and then.

Where there once stood a sandwich shop out on Matecumbe,
now there's a "For Rent" sign on the storm's only shrine.
There I met a woman who's face called to me from the names I can't place.
"Junction City" there we go! Tavenier radio . . . she used to sing -
"Bop-bop doo-ee-op - biddy doo-ee-op - touche!"
Well, I don't remember Wednesdays - 8:15, and I don't remember WQAM,
but I think about her when it's raining, and I wonder of her every now and then
