Law of the Lord composed by Michael Cox. For SATB choir. with optional solo, low voice. Te Deum Series. Octavo. Published by Roger Dean Publishing. LO.15-1045. This anthem was written for the 1987 Glorietta Baptist Conference chorale. The text is an adaptation of Psalm 19 and features a solo for medium voice. Rich in harmonic color, this anthem utilizes added-tone and extended tertian sonorities. Mild dissonances and close voicings provide a challenge for tuning and balance, and the resulting effect will be well worth the effort.
