Winter Solstice Carol juxtaposes a contemplative poem about the darkness of winter-and of our spirits-with the joyful exuberance of the angel's song at the incarnation. This contemplative piece draws to a joyful close as the angel's song "Glory to God in the Highest" is sung, and handbells freely ring in a tower-like effect.
