Choral score. Published by Paraclete Press. PL.9101. Resurrexi is based entirely upon Gregorian chant alternating between pure chant and polyphonic choral settings in which the chant is used freely. The work is divided into four sections which describe the appearance of the Angel of the Resurrection, and three post-Resurrection appearances of Christ. Each section concludes with a motet which serves as a summation of what has gone before. The music of the opening Alleluia returns in the final chorus, where it is transformed modally and combined with the beautiful ancient chant, "Veni, Creator Spiritus.
