Scripture: Ecclesiastes 43.

Number 3 of the cycle of The Heavens Are Full which consists of 5 a cappella pieces with texts from Ecclesiasticus 43: 1-37, found in the Jerusalem Bible. The Stars is based on contrast between the mesmerizing same note (or octave) repetitions, the declamatory style fugal entrances and finally the playful and rhythmic section of changing meters that goes through a strong section of octave singing and culminates in a full, rich G-minor11 chord. Duration 3:15.
