Graduation Day is a piece I wrote because I could not find a song that fully represented the power and emotion surrounding a high school graduation. It is a time of endings and new beginnings. It is a celebration not only for the graduates, but also for the friends and family that have been cheering them on all along the journey. This song is written in SATB form with an easy pop style and medium tempo. My community's local high school performed it at this past graduation ceremony to rave reviews. My son was part of that graduating class, so this song had a lot of personal meaning and love. I hope this song can enhance your graduation ceremony as well.
