Throughout the piece, the original theme traverses through six different variations: "1 - marziale, 2 - allegro, 3 - pesante, 4 - dolcissimo, 5 - scherzando, and 6 - animato," before ending with a glorious coda section, with each variation building in speed and intricacy.
