Theodore Chickering Williams' elegant stanzas, usually sung to the hymn tune Lyndhurst, were well known in the late 19th and early 20th century. This modern treatment of Williams' classic poem reflects the poignancy of the lyrics, with all its darkness, warmth and hope.
