Description
Big band (5 Saxes, 4 Trumpets, 4 Trombones, Piano, Bass, Drums) - Easy to easy medium
SKU: WA.54757
Composed by Elliot Deutsch. Score and set of parts. Published by Walrus Music Publishing (WA.54757).Commissioned for the Caltech Monday Jazz Band, "Noche de Lunes" is a funky cha cha in the style of late Tito Puente, Poncho Sanchez, and Eddie Palmieri. The strong and hummable melody is first played by the saxophones and is then echoed back by the trumpets. The trombones provide driving hits that bring the arrangement to life. there is solo space for baritone sax and dueling alto solos. This piece is simple to play, but doesn't sound simple. This is a frequent request at my professional big band shows.Lead trumpet plays a written D above high C. 5/4/4/P/B/D.
